AIS Infrastructure is executing the Plant Branch Cells 1–6 project, a large-scale environmental containment initiative for Southern Company focused on the safe management of legacy coal ash materials. This $74M+ project involves the construction of six engineered containment cells designed to meet strict environmental and regulatory standards.

The scope includes mass earthwork, subgrade preparation, and precision clay liner installation to form impermeable barriers for long-term containment. Each clay lift is carefully placed, inspected, and quality-controlled to ensure compliance with permeability requirements before progressing. The project also incorporates geosynthetic clay liners (GCL), along with ongoing work that includes installation of electrical duct banks, force mains, transmission lines, and mechanical systems.

• AIS Infrastructure has successfully managed evolving site conditions, including unsuitable materials, clay sourcing challenges, and design modifications requiring adaptive construction strategies. The team has maintained strong safety performance, with zero incidents or lost-time events reported since project start.
