AIS Infrastructure is delivering the SR 515 / US 76 Widening Phase II project for the Georgia Department of Transportation, a major highway expansion designed to improve capacity, safety, and regional connectivity. This $110M+ project involves widening approximately 4.9 miles of existing roadway from two lanes to four, while maintaining continuous traffic flow throughout construction.
The project includes extensive earthwork, rock excavation, and drilling and blasting operations, along with the construction of anchored retaining walls, new drainage systems, and full roadway reconstruction. Key elements include over 577,000 cubic yards of rock excavation, 815,000 cubic yards of embankment, 106,000 tons of asphalt paving, and installation of more than 23,000 linear feet of storm drainage infrastructure.
AIS Infrastructure is executing the work in five carefully planned phases with complex maintenance of traffic (MOT) requirements, ensuring the highway remains open at all times. The team is coordinating multiple subcontractors and disciplines while managing the challenges of active traffic, blasting operations, and evolving project conditions.
This project highlights AIS Infrastructure’s expertise in large-scale transportation infrastructure, complex phasing, and delivering critical roadway improvements with minimal disruption to the traveling public.
