DOUGLASVILLE, GA – AIS Infrastructure (AISI), an operating company of ASRC Industrial, has officially begun construction on the dam and spillway portion of the Dog River Reservoir Expansion Project for the Douglasville-Douglas County Water and Sewer Authority (WSA).
This critical water infrastructure project aims to raise the existing reservoir’s water level by 35 feet, significantly expanding the county’s long-term water storage capacity and supporting the region’s growth and sustainability goals. Central to the project is the construction of a new labyrinth spillway designed to handle higher flows while improving dam safety and operational efficiency.
AISI’s scope of work includes embankment construction, rock blasting, installation of grout curtains, slurry walls, concrete flatwork and structures, rerouting of DIP effluent lines, and the construction of foundation and chimney drains. Additional features include the installation of instrumentation, slide gates, miscellaneous metals, and various bridge and retaining wall components.
The project officially broke ground in May 2025 and will span several years, with a substantial completion target of October 2028. Construction will take place within the Dog River Dam area, which serves as a vital drinking water source for Douglas County residents.
In partnership with the Clark Reeves Young joint venture CMAR team, AISI has worked diligently over the preconstruction period—proposing value engineering recommendations and constructability reviews that supported final project approval.
This project reflects AIS Infrastructure’s deep expertise in large-scale civil construction and their ongoing commitment to building critical infrastructure that serves both current and future community needs.
