Basilone Road Realignment – Camp Pendleton, CA

Scope of Work:

AIS Infrastructure successfully delivered the Basilone Road Realignment project at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, a critical infrastructure upgrade supporting one of the most heavily traveled corridors on the base. Awarded by NAVFAC Southwest, this $72M+ design-build project enhanced connectivity across northern, central, and southern regions of the installation, which supports over 10,000 vehicles daily.

Details:

  • The project included the construction of approximately 8,700 linear feet of new roadway alignment near the Ammunition Supply Point and Las Pulgas Landfill. Scope of work encompassed full site preparation, roadway construction, and installation of key infrastructure elements including curbs, gutters, guardrails, retaining walls, striping, signage, and access roads.
  • AIS Infrastructure executed the project while maintaining continuous access to critical military operations, including training ranges and logistical facilities. The team coordinated complex construction activities in an active military environment, overcoming challenges such as restricted site access, operational constraints, and schedule impacts from training exercises and weather delays.
  • This project reinforces AIS Infrastructure’s ability to deliver large-scale, mission-critical transportation infrastructure in highly regulated and operationally sensitive environments, while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule performance.
