ADOC – Elmore County Men’s Prison Facility – Elmore, AL

Scope of Work:

AIS Infrastructure is supporting the construction of the ADOC Elmore County Specialized Men’s Prison Facility, a large-scale, secure infrastructure project for the Alabama Department of Corrections. Delivered in partnership with Caddell Construction, this $36M+ scope involves comprehensive site development across more than 200 acres.

Details:

  • The project includes mass grading, underground utility installation, and extensive stormwater infrastructure to support the new correctional facility. AIS Infrastructure is executing over 52,000 linear feet of reinforced concrete pipe for storm drainage, along with significant installation of duct banks, roof drainage systems, and associated structures. Additional work includes placement of over 70,000 tons of aggregate base, fine grading, and erosion control to prepare the site for vertical construction.
  • Operating within an active and evolving construction environment, AIS Infrastructure has successfully navigated challenges including unsuitable soil conditions, evolving design plans, and accelerated project timelines. The team adapted by scaling resources, optimizing installation methods, and implementing value engineering solutions to maintain productivity and meet project demands.
  • This project demonstrates AIS Infrastructure’s ability to deliver complex site development and utility infrastructure for secure, high-profile facilities, while maintaining flexibility, performance, and coordination across multiple stakeholders.
