BLAIRSVILLE, GA – AIS Infrastructure has been awarded a $110,976,976.00 contract by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) for the widening and reconstruction of SR 2/SR 515 in Blairsville, GA. This critical infrastructure project will enhance safety, improve traffic flow, and support economic growth in the region.

The project spans approximately 4.39 miles, transforming the existing three-lane rural section into a four-lane divided rural roadway with a 32-foot grass depressed median. Within the Blairsville city limits, AIS Infrastructure will also design and construct a five-lane urban roadway with sidewalks, three special-design retaining walls, and trout stream restoration efforts to minimize environmental impact.

Preconstruction activities are scheduled to begin in late February, with the official Notice to Proceed (NTP) to be issued shortly thereafter. Construction will commence in Stage 1, focusing on improvements within the city limits of Blairsville. Traffic control measures will be implemented throughout each stage of the project, and while efforts will be made to minimize disruptions, some delays are expected due to the high volume of vehicles in the area.

This project underscores AIS Infrastructure’s commitment to delivering innovative, high-quality infrastructure solutions that enhance connectivity and roadway efficiency.
