Gypsum Disposal Facility

Scope of Work:

AIS Infrastructure was the General Contractor for this project.  This gypsum disposal facility is one of the largest RCRA Subtitle D landfills in the Southeast.  Once completed, the three HDPE lined storage cells covered over 90 acres.

Details:

• 250 acres of clearing and grubbing
• 2,800,000 cubic yards of excavation
• Erosion and sediment control installation and maintenance
• Placed 335,000 cubic yards of permeable clay liner and 370,000 tons of sand liner
• Installed 18,949,000 square feet of geosynthetic liner
• Installed 21,000 LF of fusion welded HDPE pipe ranging from 4” to 30”
• Installed 28,000 linear feet of leachate trench and 50,000 linear feet of leachate piping
• Provided culvert construction and miscellaneous concrete work
