After Hurricane Michael, a Category 5 storm, struck Tyndall Air Force Base in October 2018 and damaged more than 1,300 structures on the base and in surrounding communities, the U.S. Air Force launched a multi-year effort, valued at nearly $5 billion, to rebuild a stronger and more resilient installation. AIS Infrastructure was contracted to perform all site work for Zone 1, supporting the reconstruction of multiple hangars, training facilities, and maintenance buildings.

Installed 5,200 linear feet of concrete box culvert, with individual boxes weighing up to 48,000 pounds.
Prepared 1.49 million square feet of site area for new hangars and buildings.
Disposed of 65,000 cubic yards of contaminated soil and treated hazardous materials to meet environmental and safety standards.
Constructed an aircraft parking apron and roadways within Zone 1.
