Plant Wansley Long Term Gypsum Storage Project

Scope of Work:

AIS Infrastructure performed site development and landfill construction for the Plant Wansley Long Term Gypsum Storage Facility. The project included development of one of the largest RCRA Subtitle D landfills in the Southeast, consisting of three HDPE-lined storage cells covering approximately 145 acres.

Details:

• 250 acres of clearing and grubbing
• 2.8 million cubic yards of excavation
• Erosion and sediment control installation and maintenance
• Placement of 335,000 cubic yards of permeable clay liner
• Placement of 370,000 tons of sand liner
• Installation of 18.9 million square feet of geosynthetic liner systems
• Installation of 21,000 linear feet of HDPE pipe
• Installation of 28,000 linear feet of leachate trench and 50,000 linear feet of leachate piping
• Construction of drainage structures and detention ponds
• Continuous dewatering operations
• Site security fencing installation
